Girl 'suffered 30-hour rape ordeal'

A 16-year-old Malaysian girl was raped and held prisoner for more than 30 hours by two men who abducted her from a street in Coventry.

The teenager, who was visiting relatives in the city, was bundled into a car on Sunday morning and only managed to escape her captors on Monday night, West Midlands Police have said.

A force spokesman said the girl was walking in Jenner Street, Hillfields, at around 10.30am when she was forced into the vehicle.

"They drove around for a few hours with one of the men in the back of the car with the girl and then took her to an address which has yet to be identified," the spokesman added.

The victim was raped and sexually assaulted at the property, where she was held overnight before being forced into the car, which is described as red and "new-looking".

The teenager was again driven around and eventually managed to escape at about 8pm when the vehicle stopped for petrol, telephoning her family, who then contacted officers.

Both attackers were black. One was aged about 30 with short black hair, pockmarked skin and gold-hooped earrings.

The other offender was about 20 with short curly hair and a goatee beard.

Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives stationed at Little Park Street, Coventry.
